Headlamp out to replace sidelight? WTF?
Just read the book about replacing a blown sidelight, or parking light according to the book. You have to remove the headlight to do it! WTF?
What kind of g*y design is that? FFS. Useless, bad light designing, blown bulb making, crap fog light cracking mofo's! LOL |
on what model car?
|
Try to replace bulb in new Ford, you will see, what is easier...
|
Most modern cars are the same now unfortunately

what model of ford I did one in a new focus a few weeks back, all i did was take the torques screw out of the front panel and pulled the headlamp out, maybe it was just my lucky day lol:D |
MY07 is a royal pain in the 4rse, to change the side lights!
|
Try changing bulb's on a Renault Modus then, front bumper/grile off with half splash shields and then remove headlight complete as the slam panel is about 15mm behind headlight location WTF
|
99 Xantia: replace front foglight bulb = bumper off, dealer job, £150 + VAT + bulb :(
99 Xantia: replace instrument light bulb = airbag off, steering wheel off, half the dash off, 4 hour job. You still think YOU have problems ? |

on the mrs astra the you have to go through the wheel arch and have a quadruple jointed arm and hands of a 10 year old girl and is almost imposible with the wheel on
|
Hawkeye is fookin tricky, you need decent long nosed pliers preferably bent nose.

Tony:) |
My top 3 count down of stupid car bulb fits
3. New Astra - wheel arch jobby again, but you have to bend your arm in all sorts of weird positions 2. Previous shape Renault Megane - through the wheel arch 1. Renault Modus (front bumper off to replace bulb) The new focus is much easyer to replace then the old mk1.5 focus bulbs... one torx bit and the headlight is out and easily replaced... try the same on a mk1.5/mk1 focus on the passenger side ;) or even the drivers side if it has ac fitted. |

I worked very briefly in Halfords and they offer fitting on bulbs etc. I was warned within an inch of my life, job etc not to accept certain cars. One if I remember correctly was a Renault Clio? Maybe an owner can shed some light and confirm?
However the best of it was one of the monkeys that worked there accepted a job on one of the banned list. It eventually went off to the main dealer :lol1: Another lad before I arrived reversed a brand new Range Rover Sport into the Toys 'R' Us lorry so hard he sliced through the B pillar, apparently almost every window popped due to the pressure and twisting :lol1: |
03 is easy to get the head lights out, 06-07 is a PITA.
|
Agree with above,i can remove the headlight from my blob in 10 mins :thumb:
After doing it once it's easy |

We kinda build our own list of cars we can and cannot do... once you have done one, its easier the next time and the time after that... |

That only works until some jobs-worth MOT tester says your ultra-white LEDs are actually blue and fails you until you put filament bulbs back in:brickwall

Only briefly? And that must be one strict manager you have there then :lol1:

The last straw was when the Christmas delivery came and suddenly everyone was 'busy' or on a break. I ended up spending my whole shift unloading bikes and speed flow trolleys with the driver. It was such a joke the driver reported it to his line manager as he was late for the next delivery and missed the one after completely! Don't get me wrong I didn't really care and was late and missed two days sick in a month. Not me at all, but after I realised I was working for peanuts and they were the monkeys I gave up! I have a friend who works at head office now and he knows everything that went on and what employees have gone where. He still can't believe the things I tell him! |
Mk2 Citroen Xsara (not the picasso) was also a bumper off, arch liner out job for a sidelight. There seems to be a common french theme going on here ;)

Na mate I told them I wouldn't be back. It was full of idiots and a spineless management team. On one occasion one of the fitters lost his rag with a customers car when fitting a sat nav aerial and just left it with the customer due back in less than half an hour. I had to jump in and patch it up. Management said nothing.
