Rear Diff Ratio

Hello,

Could anybody tell me what ratio rear diff I have in my UK 2001 WRX Wagon? There are so many different ratios around I cannot work out which one is correct for my car.
My understanding is that it is an LSD, if this is correct then mine is not healthy.

Cheers,

E

All UK rear diffs are 3.545:1 as far as I'm aware. 3.9:1 front diff and 1.1:1 drop gears.

Mr Saint,

Thanks for the info, does this mean that a UK diff from say a 1998 car will fit?

Not sure on that. When I was looking for a diff for my MY99, I got told there might be some other differences with the splines on the drive shafts from different years. In the end I couldn't find a proper answer to my questions, but found a diff from a '99.

Mr Saint,

Thanks for the heads up. I will get my mechanic to check this out.

Merry Christmas (belated).....

Check your trans. code (on VIN plate), then check here to cross reference the rear diff's ratio:-

Is it normal to have a gearbox that is listed as US Market?

My car is a standard UK wagon. :wonder:
