iTunes -- ARGHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I am seriously pee'd off with this program. I've changed nothing on my PC, not installed anything, not uninstalled anything for the last 2 weeks at least.

Tried to load iTunes this morning and I get the message "The folder "iTunes" is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder"

I've tried a system restore, I've tried giving full control to every user on the PC etc but yet the same message comes up.

If I uninstall iTunes will it lose all my iPhone data etc?

edit - this is using Windows 7 and the latest iTunes

its a conspiracy i tell you!

I never could get itunes to work properly on a PC but suspiciously it runs really well on a mac!

Have a read of this. Apps and music should not be deleted when you remove iTunes.

I'm not shocked iTunes on the PC isn't great, Apple aren't Windows developers, so only really pay lip service to Windows. It's a free app so they don't get any revenue from it directly.

Done all that on Steve's link, still doesn't work so I uninstalled it, reset the PC and reinstalled it. Same message about write access etc.

In fact, the way to get it to run is to right click and 'run as administrator'. Now on this PC there's only me as a user on it and I should have full admin rights.

Weirdly, on my iPhone if I'm not in a wifi zone it now refuses to connect to the mobile data network (checked all settings and they're still the same as before when it worked).

I'm really pee'd off at it all. Hassle I could do without right now.
Could understand if I'd been messing around with the PC but I've done nothing :(

Normally resetting the iPhone sorts that problem out. It won't be iTunes changing things it'll be the OS

Thanks Jura,

What I don't understand is, last week when I last tried iTunes, it worked fine, I didn't have to change any permissions etc.

I've decided to uninstall all of Apples wares and start again cause even when I 'run as administrator' and try and sync the phone I get 100 warnings about missing files from the library (which they're not, I can see the buggers!)

Hi matey this is standard problem with permission of all windows(like XP or W7) and i suspect Apple for these troubles.
Hope you are fix it.
Or you can try Windows Install Clean Up
