not an expert on codes but the ej20k is alot newer than the ej20g. if the k is a newage i think they have better rods and forged but not really pistons if an sti

I know for a fact that he ej20k is an older engine and is the same year as the ej20g. The ej20k is an sit block, but they are both orb. I was wondering which block is best. Cheers

many thanks rudi93!!! you on bbs?

that info is great, but which out of the two blocks would be best too do my rebuild on?

will the sti block be any better (bare block halves) than the EJ20G block i have.

Many thanks

the ej20g is a closed deck so that would be best. yes mate i am on bbs.

The EJ20G is a closed deck or an open deck.

both the blocks which i have are open deck. i was just wondering if there where actually any other differences...

Bump for urgent advice.
I have both of the engine blocks listed above EJ20KDW6PR and EJ20GDW6NE.
Both blocks are in good condition, the EJ20K is from an import V3 STi and the EJ20G is from an import wrx. Both blocks are open deck I would like too know which one would be best too use for my engine build please. Are there any differences between the two blocks?

Many thanks guys
