bumped me scoob

yep, no grit and slid into a post

made a little damage too. but the car is worth more as parts
what sort of price could i sell them for, heres the list:

engine, semi closed sti v7 fitted with sti v4 heads, arp studs comtic 1.0 head gaskets. lightend flywheel, excedy stage 1 clutch, sti 500cc (blue) injectors. open bell sports cat, magnex catback system. front mount (core was damaged) brembo fronts with cross drilled & grooved disks, rear 2 pots with cross drilled & grooved disks, uprated rear anti roll bar 22mm.
front & rear drop links. sti v7 alloys with avon zz3 tyres, sti v5/6 suspension, sti rear lights,p1 spoiler, p1 gear box/diff ect, elec folding mirrors, recaro interior(pro drive 25) same as the mcrae but no logo,
black crystal head lights & side lights, facelift bonnet. momo after market wheel/pedals & knob, crystal spots.

loads more but get the idea, the engine was built and can take 425 no issue, but with the td05, made 341.4bhp & 338lbft torque. costing just over 2k to build, the p1 box i paid 1k for, then the diff £400
all that was damaged:

front bumper
front splitter
intercooler
lower cross member.
thats it.

is it worth repairing it, or selling for parts.
if anyone want to take the whol car off my hands as a project, beleave meshe is quick. offer a decent price to take, only the plate & stero will be taken out

SiV6Si 03 December 2010 10:22 AM

Repair it.

Get a couple of second hand bits for now, an then save for the replacement things you need to put it back to as it was... as for the lower cross member, can't it be pulled out an repaired ?

it can just be changed.
i've ordered every thing to repair the car, i never informed my insurrence
just if i did the car would be an insurrence right off

f4la k 03 December 2010 10:41 AM

Its up to you mate, but if its only minor front end, just repair it..

dabow 03 December 2010 10:49 AM

its the insurrence side im bothered about.
once a car has a bang, its classed a a cat....
or rightoff, granted its only minor. but say if i do deside to sell
once they find out its been bumped, i dont think anyone will buy it.
last night i got all the parts ordered. so theres no problem there
but in the end, is it all worth it, only had the engine & clutch all done in summer like. then took it off the road in september due to my van playing up, and needed the funds.

just need ideas on what really to do. would you buy a car you knew had a bump

rookymatt 03 December 2010 11:16 AM

I have!
However, i bought it as i knew it had a bump and was repaired correctly.
I'd say repair it correctly, then you can still drive it, and have a clean concious when it's time to sell on. :)

rapid.STI 03 December 2010 11:21 AM

should'nt cost more than 7-800 quid providing you can get all the bits in your colour ;)

so far i have every thing
regards the paint, i can spray my self and have a compresor & guns ect
so far with out having the cross member fitted. its cost 341 for all the parts needed. thats still alot cheaper than my excess and i wont loose my no claims. also been offered a cross member off a mate who stripped his motor.

im fully comp, but id loose my no claims then pay the excess.
this way is cheaper, and less hasle as the car has already been taken apart. just waiting for the parts to arrive. should take acouple of weeks i hope to put her back on the road

dabow 04 December 2010 10:31 AM

took every thing off the front end, its just really the cross member as i said.

you can not see really in this pic, but the intercooler was all pushed in, so throught it was alot worse than it was.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1.../Photo0138.jpg

this is the main damage i can not really do. had a couple of offers from members on midland scoobys which was great to hear.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1.../Photo0136.jpg

every thing is on order.
i think compaired to some off here, i was lucky not to have damaged the car more. i did gain control, and missed 2 cars. but hit the post in stead

i know it dont seam like luck, but could have been alot worse
my excess is £500, and so far its cost me £270. just need the paint, and to get the lower cross member fitted.

so cheaper than the excess & i dont loose the all important noclaims

chrisdicko 04 December 2010 10:38 AM

Why's your snow all red?

dabow 04 December 2010 10:46 AM

nop, that will be all the anti freeze :)

only built the engine and sprayed the bumper in summer.
i was also covered in the stuff

EH52WRX 04 December 2010 06:53 PM

Was that all the damage. OMG get a big hammer

arumdevil 04 December 2010 07:01 PM

I had worse damage than that to my legacy last winter (citroen AX, Ice, I was very pissed off). Sorted it all myself in the end. Remove the metal bumper frame and hammer it back to shape, that's what i did. 4 bolts holding it in behind/near the lights.

dabow 04 December 2010 07:13 PM

it was worse than that, the intercooler is all bent, and acouple of other bits.

id never bang it back to usable. as it would be weak once refitted.
i always change to new

when i first done it, i throught it was worse than it is.
but so far its cost £270, on parts.
just need the paint, and to pay for the cross member to be fitted.

so will still be cheaper than my excess.
i wont cut corners, and still think im lucky compaired to some members

EH52WRX 04 December 2010 07:20 PM

Well done dude, make sure you get a good paint job.

im doing it my self, so if it goes wrong i only have my self to blame.
that should cost about 70/80 quid for it all, i also need to spray my rear bumper too.

i got a welding kit, but havnt got around to using it. not that i can weld yet like

wanted to start a collage course for it.
pitty as so far, i needed to to my transit, and now thuis cross member
