LOL @ Mike ;)
NF is the only one you should be using. www.namotorsport.co.uk www.nitrousformula.co.uk www.derbyshire-rsoc.co.uk www.turbosystems.co.uk ********************* - Derbyshire RSOC - - 2nd Sunday Of the Month - - The Paddock, Breadsall - ********************* http://www.namotorsport.co.uk/images/sigs/dingy.jpg |
While not encouraging Dingy by allowing him to railroad a question for a specific product, I have to disagree.
We actually sell both at Scooby Mania The NF costs more and can be used in "stronger concentrations" for particular circumstances. I still put Millers in my STi 7 and it is FAR easier than messing about with dispensing and measuring NF every time I fill up. My car runs better and pulls harder with Millers and I am not getting any det during road driving. I haven't had the new car on track yet, and will venture out the first time on Millers, if I see any problems then I will add a fairly strong concentration of NF which should quieten the top end down? I see no need to get into a this is better than that argument bcause I sell both, this is just my own opinion from selling and using both products? Mike. |
Cheers for the Help
The Impreza i have is a 95 WRX import, I have had the car decatted. So Which product is the best for me and my car. Is Millers CVL any good. Cheers |
Just wondering if Millers would benefit my MY01 with PPP? Any risks involved?
Cheers, Gareth |
Our Test results will say you might get a 2 RON increase with NUL, not SUL or Optimax.
NF gives much more of an increase in RON for the the same value of money spent per litre of fuel used. All Octane Boost's quote increase from a base of NUL, this however is not the same if added to a higher RON fuel. I used millers before we brought NF into the country, then we set up a business doing so, i don't use millers anymore, I used it with NUL on a cosworth tuned for 97, so NUL + Millers = 97. Well the engine pinked on boost over 5200 RPM. Choice is yours. |
Gareth, no risks involved, I'm using it in my STi 7 with no problems.
Dingys problems come from trying to squeeze power out of a poxy old ford engine. ;) I've not sat and done the calculations but if mail order involved, Millers is more cost effective and DOES give over 100 ron with Optimax, 99.(something) with SUL. Mike. |
If the car is decatted, get some AVGAS ;)

Does NF go off?
To save messing about with vials and stuff when filling up, I've measured out accurate quantities of NF and poured it into old Millers bottles. Obviously, there is now a lot of air in there with the NF, and since I now don't use Octane booster except on track (use Optimax instead) it's been sitting in the grarage for a few months now. Is it okay to use, or should I chuck it? Cheers, Richard. |
Is there any problem with using Millers all the time? I don't do many miles so cost isn't really an issue. BTW I generally fill up with Optimax.
Thanks, Gareth |
Mike 1.4 RON increase from a 2 RON additive with NUL are you sure ?
Where did you get the results from ?? Poxy Ford engine, LOL, capable of 380bhp with standard internals is yours ;) And mine is (based on) a 20 year on engine ;) |
Gareth, it's OK to use Millers Octane + all of the time.
I ran my STi5 type R on it for 2 years with no problems. Dingy, I didn't mntion NUL at all? All of the test data I have was done by ITS (THE FIA fuel testing laboratory). Which independant body did yours and where are the results? I personally think that NF is advantageous (hence why we sell it as well as Millers), in certain applications but my understanding is that it is "more aggressive". I would not like to have to change my plugs every 2000 Miles like somebody I know. :o Mike. |
Mike where did you get your NF from ?? Is it from the UK or the Brothers in OZ ??
And i think you will find NF (RACE-Formula) is cheaper, if calculated by increase in RON and quantity of fuel it Treats. I must admit, i didn't hijack the thread i read it and Ian did say "or any other type of Octane Booster." Mike i know you never mentioned NUL, but its the basis on what the RON increase is IE 2 ron increase is based on NUL, same as every other Octane Booster.
When running lots of power and boost Mike, changing the plugs every 2000 miles its just the normal thing. ;) I will ask again, where do you get you NF from, if its from Australia its not the same as the UK spec. So what were the results then ??? UK spec or OZ spec ??? Can you run more than 3 degree's advance with the millers, does it make any difference whilst mapping a cossie lump.......erm Nope it doesn't. NF however does ;) :D [Edited by dingy - 4/12/2002 11:27:31 AM] |
