standard re circ dump valve advice

hi , im putting my bugeye sti dump valve back to standard re circ.

the one i got from ebay came from a 02 wrx, are they all the same as far as newage metal re-circs onwards or were there any changes .

are they the same for wrx's and sti' s ?

and lastly should i be able to push the piston in on the stndard valve i bought, as the one i bought is very hard to push in .but does open a bit just as you get sore fingers.

thanks

There are detail changes to the design through the newage development but they all effectively work the same.

Yep, that's about right. They're supposed to open at slightly more than normal idle vacuum (about -0.7 bar relative pressure). When you can push them open too easily is when you know the spring is bust.

Maybe worth cleaning it up and soaking it in DW40 over night then put a dab of 3 in 1 in side her.

OE dv is very good.
