WR1 or Hawk STI PPP RB320 look a like
Why does the wr1 need a service every 5000 miles? What's differant mechanically?
Will the wr1 be similer to drive compared to my previous 05 stippp? I take it that the wr1 will hold it's price better than a hawk even though it' looks identical to an rb320' last question! Was there any common faults on the wr1,s and is there a mk1/2? Thanks |
Was your 05 STi the first of the wide track models with auto DCCD?
If so then you already had a WR1 but in a different colour. For some reason the WR1 require a 5k oil service. No idea why as no other STi PPP needs it :wonder: Are you sure you're looking at a WR1? It looks very different from an RB320. There was only Mk 1 and no obvious faults. |
Watch out for knocking rear struts and a worn clutch if going for a wr1.
RB320 is nice but personally i wouldnt pay the price gap for what on the road is just as quick as a WR1. |
Sorry I was not clear with my question!!
I have put a deposit down on a Hawkeye STI PPP which LOOKS lika an RB320 (Cheap alternative) However It was mentioned that I should look at a WR1 because the residuals are better, there more exclusive than an 07STIPPP. My 05 had a manual DCCD With the WR1 was there a mk1, mk2 like the old focus RS? Finally what is the better car to own? |
I'd get your deposit back and do some more research :)

There is always the JDM option of course? ;) better out of the box cars, more "feel" to the drive (mainly down to the quick rack steering :D) fantastic engines that pull from the off and virtually zero lag :D Tony:D |
you are defo biased jdm, in fact it was some of your posts that made my mind up when I changed to a my05 jdm, glad I read them now as I believe I made the right decision and if I had bought a uk car would have probably been looking to change it for a jdm as the differences are well worth the time it took to find one.
Thanks Darren |
