ppp or something else

Time to decide on what to do to my sti hatch. 2000 miles on it now.

PPP upgrade - approx 1600 quid - keep engine warranty

or

engine rebuild, some choice changes, not interested in silly power, 350 ish would be fine, but to make the engine bullet proof - what would £4-5k do in this regard? Engine warranty is out the window.

Decisions decisions.

decat, panel filter, fuel pump and remap and jobs a fish for your 350 :) no need to rebuild for that level,

that would be chepaer than ppp, but you'll loose your warrenty

cheaper yes, but not bullet proof, and without a warranty, eeek. I wonder what the ball park costs are to get the pistons swapped out, etc, to remove the cadbury issues.

still gonna loose warrenty. for what it is get it ppp'd till warrenties gone.

Not worth losing the warranty over tbh, stick with the PPP.

Tony:)

go with ppp for now and when warrenty is up then go for engine rebuild and while u are waiting u can save money for more upgrades

Dont spend the cash on ppp and then more cash later on. How old is it and how much warrsnty is left, I would keep it standard an push it hard and see if it holds together. If it blows, then supply forged pistons and rods and uprated bearings when subaru are rebuilding it, basically supply all the goodies and save yourself a packet on labour charges if it blows. Best of both worlds imo..
