Suspected Wheel Alignment Issue

Hi all,

I was late dropping my daughter off at the local athletics track in my MY05 WRX the other day and I disrespected 4 mild speed bumps. Now I have a slight steering issue which may be down to my alignment, but I am also concerned that is could be a wishbone bush or something.

The silly thing is that these are the mildest speed bumps you'll ever come across so I'd be surprised if they would have done any damage.

I had some prodrive spring fitted about 3 months ago and my alignment was done at the same time, the alignment cost me £120.00 and I don't want to get it done again only to find out that I have another problem.

Clutching at straws, I do have another theory... I don't do a lot of mileage in the car; in fact I've barely done 2 thousand miles since the springs were fitted. I noticed over the past week that the car is sitting a bit lower. Could this be attributable to my encounter with the speed bumps? i.e. could this have made the suspension drop a bit further thus causing my tracking to go out?

Basically I'm looking for a friendly mechanic in the Chelmsford area to take a look without bending me over...

Symptoms:-

-Increased railing along the contours in the road
-Steering wheel is ever-so slightly left hand down
-Feels as though the driver's side front wheel is towing out
-Feels like the near side front wheel is towing in (slightly)

Any ideas? :wonder:

get alignment checked, if steering wheel is slightly different alignment then i;d guess it has nocked something.

p.s. 120 is way ott cost wise. Scoobyclinic charge £85 for a complete fast road setup.

I assume that the fast road set-up is a more aggressive set-up than standard?

whoever you paid to do the alignment, take it back and ask them to re-check it and explian what you done. if they are worth their salt (or the 120 you paid) they will happily oblige.

i paid £50 for mine, but came back 2 weeks later after a puncture & 2 new tyres, got them to recheck it all as it wasnt right, said it was still 100% true. then swapped new tyres to back - turned out the new tyres where the problem. - and all this free

Yeah, take it back...get it re-checked..
My last car had to go back and forth to the garage, total of 5 time in 2 months, never paid more than once, and they were always happy to oblige.
DSA do a 4 point alignment for 80 quid, wouldn't go any where else. Booked in to track my new coilovers when I've put them in....

I had an alignment done yesterday and it cost £20 per adjustment!
