new air filter

i have a 2002 scooby wrx remapped to 288bhp, it had a blitz air filter on, quite old and dirty i took the car for a rolling road and was reconmended to get a new airfilter so here goes i bought a k & n induction kit, its now fitted, just took the car down to local tesco, and it seems to be running a bit iffy, ie when im at the lights it runs ok, as soon as i accelerate it judders then i get power, im not too sure if its the case of the engine not used to clean air, and does it need a remap, as it was remapped with the blitz air filter on, your thoughts on this cheers:wonder:

Hi matey you must go to your mapper and your mapper must adjust/tweak map for K&N induction kit.
But for your best(and for your engine),i will recommend you get panel filter like Induction kit.
In your current tune panel filter will be have benefit like induction kit.Sell the induction kit and buy K&N panel filter/Green Cotton Panel Filter and your engine will more than happy with this.Induction kit is good if you are going for FMIC(Front mount intercooler),bigger BHP(your OE airbox is good up to 400BHP) and its same STi TMIC(top mount intercooler is good up to 400bhp),until you have just TMIC and 288BHP stick with the OE airbox and TMIC.

unfortunatley i bought the car with the blitz induction filter on it, so i dont have the factory air box looks like im goin to have to put the old blitz filter back on and give it a test run again. until i get the funds to get the car remapped, thanks for the advise jura11

If is your car mapped with Blitz, stick with the Blitz and switch to K&N if your money allow for new tweak, but ask your mapper about the tweaking map, tweaking map is generally cheaper than any Remap(some tweak maps cost around 100-150£ or are free of charge, this is really depend on mapper).
But i'm not sure but your Blitz must be re-usable(cleanable) via this
