brake weights

Don't know if its been asked before but i want to upgrade me standard brakes on my classic for when i take it on the track, but is there a big difference in weights between the kits, i'm sticking with 17inch wheels so it'll be 330mm brakes but i'm keen to keep weight as low as possible, is this the reason why ap's cost 2 grand and others can be got for less than half the price because of the weights??

Quality/workmanship, reliability between builds etc, AP's are probably the best on the market so you pay for that (in name as well as quality), but you can buy lesser kits which are still very decent ;) or look around for other kits like the AP kit that godspeed does for half that price ;)
I take it your after 4 pots and not 6 pots? you may find the 6 pot kit can work out cheaper

well i was thinking about the k sport kit but wondered if they were a lot heavier or something ... maybe i shouldn't worry so much , but then again there doesn't seem much point in saving a few kgs on the wheels then putting it back on with the brakes ???
