ipod touch with 4.1os
I upgraded to this and my battery life had more than halfed, can I down grade or is there anything I can do to improve it as it only last 8hours and thats with no use as its dead

Not unless you have saved blobs through cydia which requires jailbreak. 4.2 is around the corner may improve it

Not too sure about iPods, you might be able to restore back to a lower version IF you have saved the ipsw file. iPhones typically cannot be downgraded due to the baseband being upgraded in some updates and this is not / cannot be downgraded, thus the older software won't work with a newer baseband version.
