UK TURBO 2000 CLUTCH HELP NEEDED.

ive bought a new clutch plate for my uk turbo 2000 x plate (2000), i had a sti (import) 1996 pressure plate on the shelf and desided to go with that as i new it was good.
so ive put the engine in bolted in,im so chuffed i dident fully plum engine in, then decided to cheq the clutch pedal, pushed the fork on, in to the pressure plate lovely click nice.
gone to press the pedal a few times and it will not return to place, half way only, tryed bleeding no air so i replaced the slave cylinder to no avail.
the clutch works for a few inch at the bottom but doesent dissengade the clutch,
to cut a long story short is the pressure plate wrong.
thanks peeps.

clutch engages at the last 3 inch of the clutch pedal, but the pedal stays half way down its like there is not enough travel on the pedal, can the pedal be ajusted.
