If you were Jenson Button you can't be too happy about these comments.

Bernie Eccleston on the Jenson Button incident lol

"They look for victims, they look for people who are a little bit slow and simple, but the people who look a bit bright, they never go after them.

He's got a point.

nice tact there Bernie :lol1:

Although what does concern me, and no doubt may crop up sooner or later is how many race spectators that flew to watch the Brazil GP have also been robbed at gunpoint.

Now compare that to something like the South Africa World cup......

Bernie is losing the plot, am I the only one who thinks he may be going a bit senile? :lol1:

Tony:D

PS, his daughter would get it ;) http://www.hellomagazine.com/imagene...at-the-Gir.jpg

I didn't know F1 had a duty to provide security for spectators?

Gear Head 10 November 2010 11:06 AM

:D Even Bernie agrees with me!

Clarebabes 10 November 2010 11:15 AM

I thought his comments were insensitive under the circumstances. He basically said Jenson and his driver should have given the car to these people because it wasn't his. So, with this in mind, what were Jenson and his drive expected to do? Get out of the car and stand in a shanty town and await the police? They would have been had for breakfast!

They don't. But there is a duty of care, for the same reasons why there isn't an Iraq GP ;)

Ecclestone is a moron, a rich moron, but a moron none the less.

His comments and nothing to do with the actual incident, and everything to do with not wanting to cast Brazil, and the GP itself in a bad light. It's a show, nothing must spoil the show, or be seen to spoil it.

Get out of a car when someone is pointing a gun at you, hmm, senile, yes.

I see the US president is training to be a copper (in the picture) :D

Exactly, purely political style comment to try to cover up the problem which is known to exist in Brazil.

He is an arse!

Well, when you have a country the size of Brazil (bigger than Aust, pop 190+ M.),
I guess the economic answer wins.

What?! That's not what Abdull said when I booked my campsite pitch for next year! Was looking forward to seeing the sights in downtown Basra too :(

I note that in a recent prison riot in Brazil they were chopping heads of each other.......

So they don't mess around out there.
