alarm only works at close range
 

alarm will only arm/disarm when standing at the drivers door, it used to work from a good distance but has gradually got weaker, i have changed the key battery and no difference and spare key unused doesnt seem to operate at all,
any advice welcome

hi bud, it will be the alarm units reciever board, you have tried new batteries and the other remote, so it all points to that, only remedy is new alarm,

Is it the factory subaru one(sigma is aftermarket), or is it aftermarket

its a sigma m30 what parts would be needed?

a complete new alarm, step 1 have that bag of plop ripped out
step 2 get a new alarm fitted just not anything from sigma or cobra or any jap ebay jobbie, i personally reccomend anything from directed electronics i have been fitting them for over 15 years now and only ever had 1 fail, that was due to a garage putting one of those battery boosters and fried the poor little thing..............
