Aftermarket dials - wrong ones?

I bought my classic last week and immediately thought something was wrong with my dials as when I sat at 30mph according to the dials the car felt a lot slower than the speed of other road users, and sure enough, when I put the sat nav in at the weekend, it proved I was correct. When I was doing 30mph, the dial was over 40mph and when doing 70 mph on the motorway, is was reading 83mph. The dials are aftermarket Richbrook ones but I think they are wrong. The speedo goes up to 160mph and the rev range is upto 8000 revs, and I have a 2000 uk 2.0 turbo awd, are these dials wrong for the model?

Pics would help. When you say, "I have a 2000 uk 2.0 turbo awd," I assume you mean a 2000 model year UK turbo? W/X reg? These had white dials as standard. They came in on the 98 cars, along with electronic speedos.

Comparing speedo with satnav is usually a shock, might be better to try travelling behind/in front of someone with a speedo you trust.

On a recent jaunt with mine my speedo said 180mph my satnav said 170mph :)
