Clutch repair

Anyone ever tried or heard of havinf a clutch repaired when it goes?

mates after a clucth and been told by a palce they can repair it for £60 + vat.

im assuming its recoating the clutch plate, anyone know how successfull this is or is it not worth it?

bear in mind you can pick up an origional new clutch from camskill for £140.

Friction plates are relatively cheap to replace, wouldn't be worth refacing it. That could be what they mean?

Personally on a worn out clutch I would always replace the whole kit rather than chance it by keeping the old clutch cover and bearing.

could be, mate just got a scoob and all seemed fine for a bit, sods law clutch starts going, although i think seller may have known, but that a different issue.

Apparently its a 'reconditioned clutch' so to me says a new friction plate and rest of the clutch reused.
