Oh these will Need upgrading for track days then, will the sets of second hand four and two pots front and rear fit straight on?

Dazza9t9 01 November 2010 10:28 PM

I am just in the middle of doing the same upgrade on my MY95, 2/1pots to 4/2pots.

The fronts bolt straight on, however the rears need a bracket for the calipers. Ian sells them for about £50 i think, i will be ordering mine next week i think once i put the callipers back together

in all honesty i upgraded from 2 pot fronts to 4 pots on my 94 sti, and i dint make much of a difference

maybe i was just unlucky and the calipers i bought werent working 100% - but if i was doing again id buy decent uprated pads and discs for them - or just go straight to one of the 330mm kits, provided you have the wheels to fit.

long and short of it, i just bought the car and in fairness the brakes have black diamond discs and mintex pads on and they stop the car up quite well, however we are going to the ring on friday, are they going to fade and die half way round? the car is quite light though so????

what do you guys reckon

jef 02 November 2010 10:48 AM

ive never been so?

but my guess is they wont really be up to the job - but i suppose it depends on how hard you drive it round.

dont really want to go all the way there and have to hold back because your brakes arent up to it.

like i said maybe the set i bought were not 100% and with uprated discs and pads four pots will be up to it

id ask ian ^^^ tho, hes the brake man, and has experience in driving hard lol.

You could buy a 2nd hand set of 4 pots off ebay or the likes but the chances are they will need overhauling, so more time and money, plus new discs and pads.
For all that cost you can upgrade either to one of Ian's brake kits or go for K sports (though I prefer the AP's myself ;)), but what wheels do you have? 16's will restrict you, 17's will be a more viable option for bigger kits.

it has got 18 inch team dynamic wheels on, there not that nice but it's a track car so!
will the k sport 6 or 8 pot kit fit straight on or what complete kits does Ian do?

Ian does the subaru 4 pot kit with 330mm discs, an AP4 pot kit with 330mm discs, a 6 pot kit with BIG discs :D and yes, the K sports will just fit with no issues ;)

Tony:)
