http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RACELAND-Full-...item2eb087309c They going on my 53 plate blobeye sti, just wanted peoples opinions!! Cheers Andy |
They look a total bargin to me
|
I thought they look ok for the money to, still open to opinions!!!
|
Never heard of them and price seems to low to be true, so i wouldn't buy them lol.
Thanks Sam |
i was looking at them as well i bought a set of coilovers for my vectra gsi for £180 from a company in Germany and they were brilliant, so i would not let the price put me of and would have them
|
just because they are cheap dont mean there nogood pro made in a country were labor is cheap to keep cost down
|
Go on buy them..... fit them and let me know what there like
|
Sadly most cheap coilovers only do one thing..... make your car rock solid and not nice to drive. The only exceptions to the rule are expensive manufacturers who have spent more on developing them for the UK roads. Manufactures like, EXE-TC, AST's etc ! But with most things cost does come into it and they are expensive. Personally I would only ever fit these types of coilovers and if I couldn't afford them I would go for a different suspension set up entirely and stay away from cheap coilovers..... only my personal opinion. Interested to hear how you get on no matter which way you go mate !!!!!
Ricky ! |
Rearrange the following into a well known phrase or saying:
Get What Pay You For. |
But just coz you pay dear dont mean you are gettin the best surely?? Sometimes you are just paying for the name as with most things
Maybe i should just buy some lowering springs and say sod the coilovers!!! |
They're not that much cheaper than entry level coilovers like BC and HSD's.
I would rather pay a bit more and be reassured by the feedback and experience of others rather than take a £400 punt. As with above comments, from the experience I've had with cheap cheap coilvers from ebay they are crashy and solid. If it was my money I would go for some Eibach springs and some whiteline goodies. |
All advice is taken on board, dont know what to do for the best lol
|
Whats the budget ?
|
pay cheap pay twice. simple realy.
coilovers are overrated imo, 99% of the time the settings never get change on them so whats the point. a decent set of adjustables are a much better solution |
What sort of adjustables?
Im open to suggestions |
Id buy them. Worth a go. If they are rubbish then just send them back, they have a money back guarantee on them. Dont get how people can up the price on parts just for the name on them:wonder: Surely the price to manifacture these cant be that much more than say AST's. Yet you have to pay 4 times the price.

It's not like a pair of £100 jeans. Jeans are jeans, when you pay that much for a pair because they are from a designer brand you are literally paying for the brand. The cheaper brands tend to take an original deisgn, copy it, then produce it for as little money as possible. |

It's simple, R&D and higher manufacturing standards.

Just my opinion. |
Sorry mate...... In my opinion set ups like AST and EXT-TC are superb on british roads and your not only paying for a name. As MovingShadow stated above, its all to do with R&D, higher manufacturing standards, and the proper testing with the internal valving which is the key to soaking up the bumps. Go get a run in any car with the above two set ups and you will immediately see what I mean. I have had Subaru's for well over 10 years and have tried many different scenarios, yet one day I happen to be at Powerstation and one of the lads there gave me a run in their Type25 with AST's....... very simply I bought a set that day. Thats how good they were in my eyes, and I'm a fussy bugger when it comes to things. Have since had EXE-TC also which are also out of this world, yet more expensive again. AST's are the best for 'bang per buck' as such in the UK IMHO, and if money ain't an object go EXE-TC for the best Subaru suspension this side of WRC !!!!
We can talk all day about people's opinions, but go get a run in any of these two set ups and then get a run in a car with any other sort of coilover..... then tell me I'm right ! LOL. I'm sure a few of the suppliers who sell these still have demo cars so go get a run and let that alone make up your mind......!!!! I'm done now ! Ha ! |
