Split Front/Rear
Tried searching for this to no avail. What is the drive split between front and rear on a non-dccd gearbox? I know in open diff on a dccd box it is 34 / 66 front / rear but I can't seem to find any definate answers on this. I found 2 different magazine articles and they gave different figures.

It is thought to be 45 front / 55 rear. No one has ever challenged that assumption and neither has anyone ever confirmed or proven otherwise, we state 45/55 when asked.

The inherent torque split on all the viscous centre diff gearboxes is straight 50/50. David - take one, oops, get one of your slaves to take one to pieces, you'll soon be able to confirm it. :D
N Scooby - the primary reason magazines exist is to make money for their publishers. Expecting them to be factually correct is just silly. ;) |
