Turbo fitting help TD04 TO TD05
 

I have a 2002 WRX Bug with a TD04 standard fitment (front entry)
Before my remap...
I have purchased a TD05 from an import WRX with new front entry add on piece, 2 x gaskets for up and down pipe, and heat proof tape for the down pipe while im at it.
Questions, - is the banjo bolt the same size to swap from TD04 - 05
is the engine block in the way at any point, also will all the pipes reach to the new turbo
In short.... HELP!! i cant have it off the road long as its the wifes works car and dont want to dismantle it without everything I need...

If by "banjo bolt" you are referring to the oil supply banjos, yes, both the TD04 and TD05 are plain bearing turbos so there's no need to change anything in that regard.

If your "new" turbo came off an Impreza there's no reason to believe it won't drop straight into your car. The only pipe likely to be different length is the coolant return hardpipe, which will be shorter on the older turbo.

To address this you will either need to fit the coolant lines from your TD04 onto the TD05, or else, if the TD05 comes with a softpipe on the coolant return line, you could use that.

Incidentally, if this is your "wife's works car", it's not a company car, is it?:eek:
