WHAT A TOOL !!!!!

Trout 26 October 2010 06:03 PM

I reckon there is more stupid.

There was a guy in Hull who put a pic of himself and a new BMW on Friends Reunited listing it as a benefit of his job as a drug dealer.

Plod saw it, turned him over and he was arrested and prosecuted!

WTF Less than four year for intent to supply with nearly a kilo.

I thought that was a 15 year bit.

Luan Pra bang 26 October 2010 06:26 PM

I can only imagine they figured a man that thick would never hope to get a proper job or he told the police who he was working for and helped them make significant inroads into bigger players in the local drug scene.

This DOES support the Law Enforcement model used by Rudy Giuliani. Come down on small time crime (eg - caught stealing 3 times = Life in Jail) Crime in New York plummeted.

Compare that to the UK

Crime 1+ (Slap on wrist)
Crime 101 + (Foreign Holiday)
Crime 1001+ (Invite to all the "In" parties / Mixing with Celebs)

Time to sort this shti out!

So you think a shoplifter should get life in jail at the taxpayers expense? :cuckoo:

Giuliani's main success came from putting police on almost every corner in manhattan for example. They don't necessarily do anything but the presence is a big deterrent in making the place feel safer

Pretty much evey statistical analysis going has said that the main reason for a drop in crime in New york and every other high crime US city was a delayed effect for the legalisation of abortion and nothing to do what so ever with zero tolerance policing.

That's such a wild statement that I thought I'd poke a stick in it. If I search on Google for "reason for US drop in crime" the top 4 results (all pointing to academic studies) all do not support this, in fact they say that no one has figured out why yet.

Indeed the font all knowledge (Wiki), agrees, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_the_United_States, and states "One hypothesis suggests there is a causal link between legalized abortion and this drop" and then goes onto show other studies show other things. I'm sure One does not equal pretty much all of them.

Seems to me that "pretty much every statistical analysis going" does not agree with any other over the reasons and if I wanted to say the drop in crime was due to me donning mirrored shades and asking people to "respect my authoritah!" I could prove it through statistics.

Mind you what this has to do with the OP I haven't a clue. Perhaps you are trying to advocate forced abortion as a means to control scum breeding scum?

The reason people will not admit the truth is due to the politics surrounding abortion in the USA. The reality is obvious for all those who care to see it and while the numbers don't lie there is a lot of energy and money spent in the USA to make sure it does not become common knowledge. The American republicans has far too much vested in hiding the truth.

They just can't help themselves can they!?
These knobs where caught after shooting a security guard & found to have
pictured themselves with cash & one wearing a big bling ring that was stolen during the robbery.
You couldn't make it up.

To be fair - this very point should make you extremely suspicious of statistics and theories based on them regarding this particular issue. Certainly not one to quote Wiki on me thinks.

Yes, Yes I do.

3 strikes and you're out. It would certainly clear the streets of repeat offenders.

Initially it would cost a large investment in building jails - but once the message got out there I think the reduction in crime would offset the cost of incarceration.

In all honesty, for non-violent / low level crimes, I'd probably be okay with repeat offenders having a review after 3 years.

It would make people think, wouldn't it?

Surely he was just maximising his return!
