Decat - Good or Bad
Just have bought a Turbo 2000 PPP fully standard.
I have had decats fitted to previous cars ut heard mixed things about fitting them to a scooby. TBH Im not really bothered if its best not to fit them, more a curiosity than anything. |
Good in what sense?
A de-cat with it remapped is good for power and performance, not good for MOTs. |
Ive got a turbo 2000 that I bought with a full decat and have had it over 2 years without a problem, I have heard some guys on here saying they do work better after a remap and I because I bought mine already done I cant say whether thats whats been done.
There are some good guys on here that may be able to give you better advice. |

On a standard turbo its normally ok, on a PPP'd car its not :nono:

i had my classic decatted with 3 inch all the way through and chipped at the same time, and change in performance is like night and day. Car used to pull well before, Now i find im backing off the throttle due to boll&ck size

I had my 2000 uk car with ppp fully decatted and car ran fine, but as it was only on the car for 3 weeks before I upgraded turbo , ecu, etc I can't say that a problem would not have occured later on. Lots of reports of boost spiking when fitting decat to ppp equipped cars.
