SMELLING FUEL

Hi Guys n Galls

My 2001 bugeye wrx has all of a sudden started to stink of fuel at low revs and idol.

the car is totaly stock no mods at all.

i have been told it could be the fuel filter but i have no clue as the performance and fuel consumtion have not been effected.

Any help and advice is much appreciated

. Its a known problem. its quite a common problem if you do a search> The cure is new fuel lines to be fitted under the inlet manifold. The pipes tend to shrink and become less flexable in the cold and this lets fuel vapour leak out

Yep - leaking Bug fuel rails is a know issue and even was a Subaru Technical bulletin - not a recall though :(.

Either get a set of Parallel fuel rails fitted or get the Subaru fix done - both cost about the same!
