ABS light on - both rear brake lights out
had ABS light come on on the car (99 UK Turbo) just tonight - it appears (i hope) to be because both brake lights have went out on the rear, though the spoiler brakelight is still working.
both brake lights where working as recent as thur when i checked them normal sidelight part of both bulbs are still working cant read the ABS diagnostic code - the PSI3 monitior doesnt show them where is the stop light switch located top of pedal box i assume? but does the spolier brakelight run of the same switch? fuse? just trying to look at all possibilites apart from 2 new bulbs! jsut seems odd that both have went out |
ABS has nothing to do with brake lights..
Yes the switch for the brake lights is on a bracket above the brake pedal. If the spoiler light is working then it isn't the switch.. Check fuses first.. (will be two, one for each side) |
I had the same on my bugeye, 2 rear brakelights out = abs light on. You spend the £6 on bulbs then come back and tell me I was right!

Roger me sideways if that's correct :D

Honestly Fuzz, I was driving so carefully thinking my brakes were playing up, then a gate guard told me both rears were out. I googled it and it appears this is the case. Forgive me if I dont roger you, sideways or otherwise.

Fuzz, I must congratulate you on your restraint, not just giving me a keyboard licking. I must admit it sounds ridiculous, and most would have a right go at me and hope Id go away somewhere!
