Mac guys - sourcing Apple Hardware Test disk/image.
Wierd one - Wifey's (my old MBP) seems to have lost its ability to connect via WIFI.
I suspect it's a duff wifi module - so was looking to check it with Apple Hardware Test. Except that it's on Install Disk 1 of 2 (that I can't find!! :D) Has anybody got one that they can image up for me? The machine is a 2Ghz Core Duo (siver keyed/non-unibody version) Any suggestions? *I did post this before but ScoobyNet wiped the post  * better luck this time! Dan |
Try deleting all the named access points in network preferences, I think you need to go to advanced on the network adaptor. After that try deleting the adaptor itself then adding it again.

Looks more like an Airport Extreme card issue (firmware) - when I'm sat close to the Airport Express, get loads of signal. Move about 5ft, and nothing.
Been reading up on the support forums that there was a dodgy firmware update (quelle surprise Apple! - anybody remember the SuperDrive fookup)....... Will certainly try it though Jack :thumb: |
FWIW, removed the airport profile. Was a PIG to get the airport to re-recognise, but it did it.
Sadly, it still won't find my wireless network. Fear it could be a dodgy logic board....... (at worst!) |
I'd be interested to hear the outcome, a friend has a Mac Mini that get's a terrible connection to his wireless router even in the same room.

ask him to move house or something, maybe move a few walls around I think he is being a bit picky if i'm honest |
You might be right, first thing I suggested was moving the router, but he refused. Also asked him to try another router but he's not willing.
