Outlook Express to Thunderbird
Partly because the SN masses told me I was so yesterday using OE I spent a long time last night downloading Thunderbird to use as my main e-mail programme.
I am just about sorted and getting used to the slightly different layout of Thunderbird. I have kept my old OE files just in case I want to search them for something. But one thing I can't find out is how to enable Thunderbird to become my default program. When I turn on my machine it defaults to Outlook and I can't seem to find an option to change this. I phoned my ISP, Plusnet, who were no help whatsoever. Can anyone help please? David OK - Sorted I think (apologies). |
depends on operating system but it will be control panel -> default programs
who told you to use thunderbird instead of OE? they are both stuck in the 90's! |

I must admit that I used Outlook for years but then changed to T'bird for a year or so. Recently changed back to Outlook. The main reason was getting all my contacts to my phone - Nokias now Android. With T'bird it was a no-no unless I paid money AND accepted short-comings with the transfer. With Outlook it just happens.
Also with TB there were a couple of short-comings that I found irritating. For instance, I'm reading an email and I want to bring up the next one in the list. With Outlook you just click on the 'next' arrow. With TB you have to press a keyboard key. ........ Dave |
