I want a Subaru Impreza WRX

I'm looking for a bit of advice from owners of 2006/2007 Impreza WRX models. I was looking at a completely standard (07) 2007 WRX with 32000 miles on the clock today at my local Arnold Clark garage. They want £9488 for the car and have offered me a rediculous amount for my BMW 330d Sport. Anyway, I would like to know what sort of range I would get from a full tank of petrol and what type of mpg should I expect. I have a 50 mile daily commute to work which is mostly motorway. What should I look for on the car. As far as I can see, it is totally standard...I think. Many thanks |
well on a fully standard wrx if its the 2.5lr or 2.0lr engine
your looking at around 60 quid to fill and around 250 miles to a tank think that works out around 15 miles per gallon. If your planning on using this car for daily commutes then think very hard about the costs of running the car not the cost of buying it, |
you will get 400 miles out of a full tank if u drive at 55mph on a motorway
common problem with scoobies are dodgy shock absorbers. lift the rear of the car by the wheel arches up and down and if u hear a knocking noise get the dealer to replace them as they cost £1050 |
You should get high 20's on a run.

I get 280 miles from a tank in my 2007 STi in normal everyday driving.

i used to have a 2ltr 55 plate wrx with ppp and around town it would do about 23 to the gallon and on a run motorway/main roads etc you could get about 27/28 a gallon maybe 30 if you drove using the loud pedal as a feather...

Dont bother with Arnold Clarke I bought my 1st car from them not realising the sill was rotten and had a hole in it!
It was parked between two cars so when inspecting it I didn't open the doors fully but checked everything else and as it had 14,000 miles on the clock it was like new as you would expect. Rang them when I got home as I noticed it as I got out of it and they said there was nothing wrong with it and wouldn't fix it. I said it had passed the MOT the day before and I don't believe with the fault it had that it could of! They said bring it in we will check it over and if it passes the MOT then its fine if it fails we will fix it. Surprise Surprise it passed. I wrote them a letter to have on record my issue they didn't respond, I sent them a letter detailing the fault again and if they didn't fix it or refund me I would take it further. I got VOSA involved they MOT'd it at a garage of my convenience it failed on 3 counts and was said in the even of a side on collision the crumple zone had no solidity at all. I contacted them in which they didn't believe. I sent them a 3rd and final letter with a copy of the VOSA report and now explaining a full refund was now the only option. A cheque landed on my mat 3 days later and a guy the day after to pick the car up. This was the Windsford branch. |

well i am on my seconds scoob and have never got anywhere near 300 for a tank even on a long run.
must be something about the way i drive it |

Will a remap help get those figures? learn to drive smoothly before people start saying miss Daisy i do a lot of miles (and i don't get overtaken unless its by someone being daft and well over the speed limit) my remap was done on the road with me driving maybe that makes a difference. |
I get an average of 26.5 mpg, town and country runs,out of my gb270.

Sub 20 in my wrx but I commute into city centre every day. I did get 30 once but that involved driving like a Nun.
Impreza's are not economical but they are a fantastic car! |

I have always quite liked them, heard you can get them up to decent power levels too.. |
Where in Scotland are you mate and we can maybe assist with dealers.
If you could go private you've got the for sale section here and also over on SIDC to look at. |

In fact what are you running, what mpg do you get? if you would like to come for a drive with me say 2 to 300 miles one afternoon we would know who is right!! No really i would be glad to take you out then you would know that what i am saying is right/thats if you can keep up LOL |
my 2yr average MPG is 23.5mpg, 2yr tank range average is 229miles, car is 80% town & a-roads, although on a recent cardiff-london-cardiff run (not hanging about either) i got 29.5mpg, and 285miles before refuelling.

Running costs don't really seem that bad, servicing isn't that expensive (I had the 60k service just after buying it), nor are tyresor other comsumables. |

I have an 2002 E39 M5 (after having a classic wagon Scooby for 10 years). I have just bought a 2006 2.5 WRX SL but... really I want a 2003 330d Touring! I'm after the torque... and when I realise it's dull I'll go for a 335i and chip it!
