why is my rear suspension hitting the tyre?
i have a 96 wrx which has eibach pro street coilovers on,these were on it when i bought it.
problem is, i bought some wheels on here and when tried to fit them they were rubbing on the suspension:wonder: we have raised the suspension to get it to clear but surely i should be able to run the car as low as i want without it making any contact? are they fitted correctly? has anyone else had any issues? i have been recomended spacers but surely i shouldnt need them? cheers tim:) |
wrong off set wheel by the sounds of it wot wheels you bought

So you fit bigger wheels and tyres, then wonder why it hits the LOWERED suspension ?
If it hits the damper body you need spacers, if it hits the spring seats you need smaller wheels and tyres or to raise it. dunx |

so i guess no one on here runs 17" wheels on a lowered car:rolleyes: i wanted to know why they hit and if they are fitted right? i have owned a few cars on coilies before and never had this issue so is it just a subaru thing? cheers for the reply |
oh and btw it had 17" wheels before,i just changed the style.

Offset is wrong or the rim is too wide for the car.
QED |
48 offset and came of a classic mate,so guess spacers are the way forward?
oh and whats QED? |
Are they rubbing on the springs?
What offset were your other wheels? What width are these wheels and what width are your other wheels? Thanks Sam |
