Hello all,
Just in case you haven't been looking on the meets section, a note to let you know that Sunday 29Th April, 10am at East bound side of the M62 Birch Services between J18/19, is the start point for Northern Meet 5.

My friends Paul with the 22B (Ralliart modified 340 BHP) from the Jeremy Clarkson Head to Head video, and Chris with his 480BHP Shelby Cobra Jet GT500KR, will be attending again, along with a Daves Lancia Stratos replica, another 22B, an Audi TT (225 BHP), a 1987 Cosworth Sierra (completely STD) and a whole load of Impreza Turbos should be attending.

If you look back at the pictures taken on Northern Meet 4 by Boomer (the official photographer of these Meets http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif), you can see some of the cars I have mentioned.

If you fancy coming along, please register your interest on the Northern Meet 5 post in the Meets section, stating your car type.

Cheers MTR

er...MTR....The Northern Meet 5 thread ain't there?

But as it is my birthday on the day....I would like to bring the Wee Red Beastie along - Sti 1, as the 4th meet was entertaining!

steve McCulloch 11 March 2001 01:20 PM

Last NM was great!

Cant wait for a drive - doesn't matter what group anyones in - your all nutters!

Mine'll be a dirty looking sti5 4 door in Grey - dont know what the real colour is anymore

Perhaps Mark Underwood (if he's there) will be able to use my car as a demonstrator for the wonders of his products? (its several months since Mark last cleaned it - and I aint touched it since!)

H,
You have to select show topics for longer than 2 days, ie 20 days for example.
I think its possible to adjust your own preferences to automatically show topics that are older than the 2 day default display level.

Once you have replied on the NM5 post, it will then appear in the currently displayed list.

Cheers MTR

To save a lot of searching, NM5 was officially announced at

BOB.T 11 March 2001 08:15 PM

I see everyone has forgotten to mention my Fista si, thhh!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I might be bringing some friends, one with a Corse like Daves and his brother with an R1.

Bob, excited!

Dreamweaver, do you still want to meet on the way?

Dream Weaver 11 March 2001 10:24 PM

Bob - Defo http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Still not sure what car I will be in http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif.

I have approximately 7 days to buy and insure a new vehicle now so I may have to buy another 205 GTi (i.e. one for about £1500) just to put me on, or I wont be able to get to work - dont want to rush into buying a Scooby, not for £8000!!!

I would rather wait 6 months and get a good one.

I will post nearer the time and arrange to meet.

Bob T,
Do you mean a Yamaha R1 motorbike.
As he's only got 2 wheels we will have to give him a head start then. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Now come on people, a 'Corse' is a Lancia Stratos Replica, and if Bobs mates car is anything like as nice as Dave Hodsons then that is a very rare treat indeed.

How many times in your life have you ever shared the same piece of tarmac with one of the most desirable and sucessful rally cars EVER made. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

These may be replicas, but after seeing Daves car, it is truly jaw droppingly stunning. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif

When you look in your mirror and you see it, it feels like you have stumbled on a road section of a 1970's RAC rally.
Retro of the nicest kind.

Then we have Steve McQeens boss mustang, only better, in the shape of Chris's Shelby Cobra Jet GT500KR.
NOT A REPLICA, but one of only 900 ever made, by Carrol Shelby.

Come along and ENJOY, as the Americans would say.

Boomer,
Thanks for those links, just refreshed my memory for NM4. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

BOB.T 11 March 2001 11:34 PM

MTR, imagine Daves car but Ford Imperial blue
a stainless exhaust to die for and nearly 300 horses!
Yes it is an R1 bike, I think it's everyone else that needs the headstart, especially me!

Cya there Bob

MTR 12 March 2001 06:53 PM

Bob,
You telling me the Stratos replica is 300BHP,
and weighs how little!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
Should be interesting.
Perhaps we won't give him quite as much of a start. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Message to Paul Gee,
Looks like you best only bring one passenger in the 22B this time, would be a shame to dull the mere 340BHP http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif you have to struggle along with.
Is your brother bringing his Evo 5?

I'm starting to get an inferiority complex, with all these powerful cars, compared to my Fiat Panda..........Diesel........Estate......... (Turbo). http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/redface.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Cheers MTR

BOB.T 12 March 2001 10:59 PM

MTR,around 800 kilos, oh yes!

BOB

PS Better make sure he's still going hadn't I!!

Gilly 12 March 2001 11:03 PM

Eh up Bob,
Have you managed to get Hugh and Dave to sign up then? Perhaps we should make a day of it and get Turbo Neil to come along. That should frighten the natives a bit. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

MTR,
Neil didn't think that a 3L V6 was enough for a Stratos replica so he's stuck twin turbos on it.

MTR 13 March 2001 06:59 PM

Gilly,
Given that a genuine Stratos produced 260BHP @7800rpm, with 27.5kgm@6000rpm and weighed 960 kilograms, it looks like Niels car could actually be quicker than the real thing!!!
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

By the way people we are up to THREE 22B's now.

If we can get a sizeable collection of interesting/different cars, then I will attempt to spread them out within the groups.
So 8 Imprezas and 2 'fancy motors'(ie not Imprezas) type of thing, per group of ten cars, so more people can get to see them.

That's if it is agreeable with the people who own the cars in question.

Cheers MTR

BOB.T 14 March 2001 10:22 PM

Hello Gilly, Dave and Sprog! I doing my best with the dangerous bros, you know what they're like to organise! I'll mention Neil in the next training excersise!

If we're talikng figures it's only fair to mention my Fiesta's 6000bhp coming from the magnex zorst, k+n filter and black cam cover!

You guys are goona need such a head start!

Bob
