Well pleased with these!

Had the car three weeks or so now and finally I've got round to tidying up the wheels.

Started off like this:

Damned good clean and rub down, then on goes the paint:

Tidied up the brake calipers too and remounted the wheels:

Couple of silver prodrive stickers added and I'm chuffed to bits :D

Had some paint left over and the bonnet scoop was looking shabby so:

What do you think guys?

what type of paint you use, any lacquer on top or just paint. Got a silver classic and the black wheels are really growing on me. Got the standard 5 spoke, pretty shabby just now, wondering how they would look black

Paulo P 12 October 2010 07:26 PM

That cleaned up those scabby looking wheels really nicely :D Don't forget to do the roof the same colour :norty:

The wheels were really expensive to do........

Peugeot Graphite Grey paint - 4 small cans = £12 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peugeot-Graphi...item45ef0f544a
Halfords filler primer - 1 can = £6
Halfords Lacquer - 1 can = £6
Stickers - 4 prodrive = £3
Sanding bits n bobs = say £3

Blimey how can I tell the wife I've blown another £30 on the car http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...es/biggrin.gif

looks good mate . you should of taken the weights off first though and got some stuck on the inside of the wheel . any tyre shop would re balance them for around £20 with stick ons

Yep, that would have been a very good idea

Really good job, always worry about doing thing's like this myself but after seeing your results maybe I should take the plunge.

Thanks J4ck5on,

I have tidied up alloys on a few of my cars, it seems that everything is in the preparation - which is tough if you are as impatient as me :o

The smoother the surface the better the finish so just take your time ;)

One thing I did buy from eBay was some tack rags, they are like a sticky fabric excellent for that final wipe over to remove all dust etc before the paint went on - they were cheap too!
