jolt,bang engine warning light

last night I was on boost but not full boost after giving it some round some tight bends, and suddenly there was a loud noise under the bonnet [like a boost pipe popping off] and the engine warning light started flashing, around 8 times, then it stopped, I tried boosting after, only slightely, and its fine, checkd under bonnet, and nothing is different.
Any ideas???

dunno did it bring up a fault code

Curtis450 11 October 2010 12:17 PM

I don't know mate but its on Autronics so. I'm wandering as the clutch is slipping badly wether this had anything to do with it.

Fuel cut? Or fuel surge?

Tidgy 11 October 2010 01:37 PM

turn the key till the lights come on the dash then count the flashes of the check engine light, thats the fault codes on an autronics ecu.

It has always flashed once I think, thats normal , but say this time it flashes twice or 3 times, what does this mean?? Also since the remap at the clinic the oil temp is MUCH cooler, any ideas anyone?? I 'think' the timing was out before, as in the ignition timing, because it ate a few gaskets and now its fine, but surely that wouldn't make it run constantly say 10-15c hotter?

how many times did the engine light flas if its 5 times that can be down to bad fuel and fuel cut problem if the light stays on solid after this then its in limp mode also if you start and drive the car i think its 5 times if all is ok the light will go out

kevin wrx 11 October 2010 06:00 PM

to read the code it goes 1 long flash is eqaul to ten and short flashes eqaul to 1 so if u got 3 long flashes followed by 3 short flashes that is fault code 33 wich is speed sensor i think

kevin wrx 11 October 2010 06:03 PM

bit more concerned as why all of a sudden would clutch start slipping

kevin wrx 11 October 2010 06:04 PM

when it made the niose did it hold back for a few seconds

Clutch is going due to being mapped to 450, started to go on the rollers. It was on boost jolted with a noise under bonnet, I think, then was fine, the flash is 8 times short, so 88.

Curtis450 11 October 2010 08:43 PM

88 Fuel Pump Circuit Malfunction HMMMMM

Curtis450 11 October 2010 08:44 PM

Actually as there is no code for 8, it can't be 8 short, probably is 1 long 7 short, so 17, or 27.

Curtis450 11 October 2010 08:45 PM

So its either 'fuel injector number 4' - 17 OR -'27 ATF Temperature Sensor Circuit' witch is what??

Curtis450 11 October 2010 08:48 PM

Just checked, its 2 long a gap then 6 short, so 26. Witch is intake air temp. Strange

kevin wrx 11 October 2010 09:21 PM

if its definetly 26 just make sure it is that code, before u part with any cash or do a ecu reset and see if it flashes code up at a later date

Curtis450 11 October 2010 09:37 PM

why would I part with any cash, it hasn't come up since whilst driving. I will check the sensor tomorrow and wiring, it may of just had a bad connection whilst bending or something. I can't do an ecu reset on Autronic unless I'm going to remap the thing lol.

kevin wrx 11 October 2010 09:54 PM

i meen make sure that is the problem if there is one before u go buyiong any parts.

Tidgy 11 October 2010 09:55 PM

best bet get it plug in and see what the faults codes are. autronics keeps a record of it within the ecu.
