classic wrx sti identification
 

hello people, i may be coming back to the subaru fold. i am looking at a 1998 wrx sti tomorrow. How can i tell whether it is a genuine sti or not? Are they all red tops?

its a wagon so if a real sti, have i got it right in thinking the applied model code should be GF8E5ED???

Yes if its a version 4 sti. And it will have a red top.
