hks air fillter
hi just picked my new 2.1 up today i have a hks mushroom fillter on it .is it worth getting a k&n if so why cheers

I have on my bugeye WRX HKS mushroom filter and i'm happy(now running just 280BHP,but later of this year will run 400BHP)and i want keep it.
HKS are good filetrs, but are not cleanable like K&N,if is your HKS filter dirty you must buy new which cost around 20-30£(every 20k-40k miles). K&N here guys used mainly, due are cleanable and good performance etc. |
forgot to say should be running 460bhp when ran in and mapped

Hi matey try this http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/
For this power K&N RCM will be perfect. |
Surely the type of filter doesn't matter so much though?? So long as it does its job and is clean??
|
looking to get as much bhp as pos,the link sent to me said the hks was not that good
|
an air filter won't determine bhp dude. I mean yes over a standard one perhaps, but different brands no... only so much air can come out the other end of the turbo, the filter simply keeps it clean, so providing its doing its job efficiently you won't add bhp.

If you are look here guys which running big BHP,every one have "Big cone" K&N RCM. |
That makes next to no sense dude, but I really do not think an air filter changes bhp, apart from standard box, to straight filter. The brand may determine quality and reliability. Surely an air filter will filter air lol? HKS, K&N etc etc.
