Beautiful and hideous in equal measure!

Poster car for many a driver on here I am sure!

Countach

Personally those Anniversary run-out models were my least favourite design, but I have to say that looks a really nice car condition-wise and they are actually amongst the most valuable ones (always plenty for sale though). That price is actually quite cheap these days too. It will be gone by Monday, so good spot Trout.

Sell your Beetle-based Sports thingy and get yourself a proper supercar!

the sound alone is worth 64k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foDcL...eature=related

Most half-decent modern cars would too, but they'll never get half as much attention as that monster! :thumb:

They're appreciating nicely too.

If I had a spare £64k I'd have that.

In fact, I'd have that over any Porsche.

SimonD 08 October 2010 04:22 PM

£64k for a Countach with a bodykit?

The early wingless ones are quite pretty but as much as I adored them when I was a child I would never want to own one.

Matteeboy 08 October 2010 06:30 PM

Nope - Miura is about 10x prettier.

I'd rather have a decent 993.

I remember a review on the countach by James May, it began by him saying it was the car he always longed for as a young boy, i believe it ended in disappointment once he drove it though.

They never look the same without an airbrushed Amazonian woman with huge boobs stood in front of it clutching a massive sword.

I think they are like many 80's icons, best as a memory of something you lusted after.

beef-on-the-bone 08 October 2010 08:12 PM

love it :)

but agree with the james may thing, he said never meet your childhood heroes; they're never like you remember!! i imagine it would be the same with this...........

Gregsti01 08 October 2010 08:26 PM

There's an awful lot of oil coming out of that car

It does sound wild - although I saw one of these years ago outside Harrods and it sounded like a broken bag of spanners!

Love them...but then I had Top Trumps

To this day I don't know if you pronounce it Cowntak or Coontash
