PPP vs £2k spend

Hi,

In the process of getting a STI.

Not sure whether to get one with PPP fitted or spend £2k on standard car, what would produce best results?

Cheers

2k on the full car? to buy?

ppp will keep warrenty intact (if it has one), 2k will get decat, panel filter and remap which will get better mpg and better results power and spool.

if in warrenty go ppp, if out of warrenty go see a tuner :)

me thinks you'll get alot more than that for the 2k.

bigger injectors and may be a good second hand turbo too.:D

Not sure what top mount you would get for the money (if at all) which is more efficient than the OEM STi one, but I would certainly agree with spending the 2k on a standard car.

also depends on what model too.

you could get a proper set up with a classic, bug/blob/hark ect
will cost a little more

+ also depends if your doing the mods your self
or via a garage

ppp aint worth the wonga unless its a new car then if it goes pop the warranty is good!

daz1968 08 October 2010 03:02 PM

but when buying a car the ppp aint 2k more than a stock one, I would have thought buying a car with ppp then just adding a remap would be cheapest option, the ppp downpipe and second cat delete, backbox and fuel pump are worth the extra you pay for a ppp car.

This is what I would do with your 2 k decat £200 fitted , miltek, 2.75 inch 330ish fitted , panel filter , £45 remap , 750ish with licence which comes to £1325 then go up to lichfield and get roll bars and antilift kit and geometry done with the rest of money car will then be sorted right out

JDM with decat and remap will give far more than PPP. I've had 2 PPP cars and then gone down the Miltek decat / Ecutek route. The latter is head and shoulders above the PPP in my experience. If the car is near or out of warranty, I wouldn't bother with PPP
