MAF-less induction tube
 

Im wondering if someone can point me in the right dirrection where to get these. or if anyone mite have one for sale for a version 5 sti

if u wanna run your car without a maf you can just use a straight peice of stainless but you need the car to be mapped to run without one i belive.

i'll be getting a simtec fitted shortly which will do away with the maf. was just lookin to dress up the engine bay a bit. only plase i can see them 4 sale is on flat4, but i warey of him as ive heard so many horror stories

Probably the main reason why you don't see what you're after commonly sold on an off the shelf basis is because custom intakes tend to be fabricated to a required spec, with a specific filter design, rather than the OE airbox 4 bolt fitting, in mind.

In addition, once you've gone to an S-D ECU, you don't even need a measurement tube at all, so there probably isn't too much of a market for something like this.

If you are intending to stick with the OE airbox and panel filter arrangement, there's no point changing anything. I understand the imperative to make your engine bay look a bit nicer, but if you spend money on a substitute now, and then decide in a few weeks/months time that you want to swap the OE filter for something else, you'll probably find that you'll have to throw your shiny metal tube away.

It's your money, and your car of course, but personal preference would be to spend in a direction that'll actually make things better.
