Flat Battery on 2.5 Sti
Your thoughts please.
After an operation on my hip I have been unable to use my car, an 07 hawkeye 2.5 Sti., and I now find myself with a flat battery. Rather than mess about recharging what is wide'ly thought of as poor standed battery, I thought I would treat my car to a new one from Halfords. Do you think it better to spend the extra on buying a Bosch Silver battery as oppose to the cheaper Halfords one. I hopefully intend to keep the car for a further 5 years, and so may'be the 5 year waranty fits in well. |
Dont buy a cheap one as these cars need alot of charge to get started,i tried recharging one for my 2.5 & it kept going flat so had a new one fitted.Dont forget to keep side lights on whilst driving as these cars have so called intelligent alternators.:thumb:

Thanks for your reply I have noted your points, and I will do as you suggest.

A lot of battery posts at the moment! The Halfords Calcium batteries are good at £82 with four year guarantee. Not sure how much extra the Bosch one is.

If you are not using your car for long periods (2 weeks or more), then buy a quality charger/maintenance system.
Ctek are regarded as being good quality and reasonable on price. Plug it in and forget, it does the rest. Have a look at MDS battery website. Andy |

Hope to be past fit next week to start driving again, so what, if any,are the consequences of a flat battery going to be to my remapped ECU, the Tracker, and presumable the radio code, which incidentally I seem unable to find.
I would be grateful for your advice on how to obtain the code along with your thoughts on how it may affect the other electronics. |
