I have to say that I have the utmost admiration for the job that they did for the country. Very impressive that they could cope with flying so many different aircraft types, especially when they had to deliver a heavy bomber.

I met an ATA pilot some time ago and the stories of how they coped in poor weather without much help on the landing approach, if any at all, in an unfamiliar aircraft were the sort of thing that made the toes curl to hear about it!

One of the women in the programme mentioned that she had flown 76 different types of aircraft!

Truly amazing.
