Any good plasterers from the Cheshire/Warrington area ?
 

I need a quote to plaster a full room, its approx 3.7m x 3.7m

Ive already had it plastered once but its a mess, cracks appearing everywhere and in large areas the plaster isn't even bonded to the wall, you tap on the wall and its hollow, it rattles and has a ringing sound.

It will be a bare room back to the brickwork.

You never had much luck did you.

DIY disaster?

Steve, sometimes you just have to put some things down to experience and write it off. That plasterer was poor from start to finish, if the render had been done right like Alan said their wouldn't have been a problem.

As well as the numerous cracks the plaster now sounds hollow and loose if you tap it where its not bonded, their are some quite large areas where its not bonded to the render, it sounds rattley, hollow and ringing if you tap it.

I'd rather write off £500 in poor workmanship at this point rather than get to the stage where ive fully refurnished the room at a cost of several thousand only for things to get ruined by ongoing repairs and judging by the state of it now it would be on going repairs.

one thing I would recomend since your stripping it again is cove the roo once done as I take it you will be leaving the ceiling as is and just incase it isn't tied in properly you don't want to risk all the angles cracking for the sake of 30minutes to cove the room.

If you were closer I would of done it for you so you could relaxed in the knowledge it was done right ;)

I think this confirms what i already knew from experience, their seems to be no decent plasterers in the Warrington/Cheshire area :lol1:

Have a look on here, if you join up i believe that you can recieve quotes in your area. Also you might get reccommended someone from near you, just an idea mate.
