Lambda sensor V5 Type R
 

I need a lambda sensor for my V5 type R ....

My car is to be mapped again shortly, and from a previous run, I already know the lambda has failed...I run a Simtek ecu and the Lambda sensor can be switched off in the map, but a working one will ensure I get reasonable fuel economy at cruise etc.

My mapper suggests I stick to a genuine o/e sensor, something to do with incorrect voltage signals from many aftermarket ones, but just had a price off my local Subaru dealer of £184 :eek:

You've answered your own Q. Bite the bullet and shell out for an OEM one - then it will last for another decade or more.

I was quoted £282 plus Vat for my one.
I believe Denso make the OE (obviously Subaru do not).
They probably supply them to Subaru for about £20 each.
I got one from Just Lambda for £129 and it seems fine. It is manufactured by Walker-autoparts in the US.
Sparkplugs.co.uk sell Denso ones.
I think Camskill also sell a limited range.

Our ones are tried and tested. Work really well and last. Mine has been on the car for a few years now and working perfect.

Well, if BOB'5 (or should that be BOB'5's ;)) claims are to be believed then £60 is indeed some kind of bargain!

Bosch LS02 should fit and costs quite reasonable money, especially compared to Subaru sensor (which BTW, at least in my my99 STi, is also Bosch make, or license)
