any doctors on here????
im getting slightly concerned about something that keeps happening to me in bed!!! ooh err missus!!! lol
i keep getting nose bleeds, im 35 never ever suffered with nose bleeds in my life before, but ive had prob about 4-5 over the last week or so. is it anything to worry about or not, i am led to believe its a natural release for someone suffering from high blood pressure is this true??? i am pretty stressed out at the moment about various things, but dont feel suicidal or anything like that. any help appreciated, before i waste my docs time for piece of mind. |
go to your doc and get your BP checked. it is never a waste of time. its an isidious killer.my highest was 172/140 and the doctor stared in disbelief. he asked how i hadn't stroked out. With medication its now down to 124/74.
the problem is you don't actually feel any different with high bp but it is slowly destroying your internal organs. heart, liver, kidneys all suffer. |
In some cheerful way it can also be the symptom of some forms of brain cancer, so always worth while going to the doctor.
That or stop sticking strange things up your nose at night ... Steve |
go see your doctor asap!
|
Had a mate with ther same complaint, he had to have the vein or whatever at the top of his nose soldered (his words). Wasn't anything serious.
Only the Doc can tell you mate, so go see him. ;) |
Yes, using Scoobynet to diagnose a squealing brake or trim rattle is acceptable.
For body issues, best get to the quack. Unless it's Viagra related, then best sticking with the Internet :D Steve |

You could always phone NHS Direct, they are normally pretty good at advising whether you should see your GP or not.

Neil I had similar readings, specialist at Guys got it all sorted. I was getting small nose bleeds and that was my first warning sign. When you look deeper into your wellbeing you will probably find more signs too. |

I had a string of nose bleeds as a kid and A&E used to shove a cotton bud up my nostrils with some stuff on the end (salicilic acid??) to shrivel the tiny veins. Makes you sneeze like mad but works.
I'd go to quack and get it checked out. Many chemists offer a free BP test if you want to know what it is but doc will do that anyway.. dl |
well i took you guys advice, rang the quacks and got in almost straight away, so went to see her and it turns out my blood pressure is slightly elevated but nothing to worry about, and she reckons the nose bleeds are the after effects of a cold a couple of weeks ago that i had, i also suffered with asthama attacks in the middle of the night which i havnt had for years, very scary, just wake up mid sleep clasping my chest trying to suck some air in at the same time and apparantly it's all related, so thankfully nothing to worry about.
thanks for the advice |

Glad all is well mate.
What was your BP out of interest? Only some doctors have different opinions of "slightly elevated" to others |
