Anyone know of any UK stockists for this? Failing that, anyone got any other ideas for a semi decent sub for an MX-5?

Cheers,
Steve.

Focal do a 5" (yup, tiddly!) one that works sooo much better than you'd expect. Needs a box to live in, obviously, but it's designed to go in the passenger cabin rather than the boot. Not too sure where, though!

There's nowhere in the cabin to put one really, I was looking at the 8.1 micro as it'll fit right in the passenger footwell perfectly, and I can whip it out when I want to. Putting stuff in the boot is an option but I can't see how you'd hear it that well, and I don't want to cut ports through to the cabin.

I'd also thought of an 8" bandpass, longer but narrow and could fit between the passengers legs on the floor ;) Or just a normal sealed box, as long as it's not higher than the passenger seat it'd sit under their knees.

Any other options?

Steve.

I've used the Focal in the passenger space, & that was in a smaller 2-seater than an MX-5. Took it out for 'passengers with longer legs' & put it in the space behind the drivers seats - didn't sound as good up there, but this basically tucked it out of the way. Couldn't leave it there 'cos it would be very nickable if the car was left withthe roof off...

Yep that's the reasoning I had for putting it in the footwell, could just whip it out and stick it in the boot when I'm not in it. There's no space behind the seats unfortunately, otherwise I'd stick it there nicely out the way. I'll mail JL Audio and ask them for resellers in the UK.

Cheers,
Steve.

By the way nom, what did you have that was smaller than an MX-5, a Suzuki Cap? Or a rollerskate? :)

Steve.

You're right :)

Just in case anyone's interested, Selfridges and D H Electronics in Finchley are resellers of the microsub.
