Bit of a predicament

Just had an offer to swap my 08 Hatch Sti for a 07 RB320

Not sure what to do:confused:

Any thoughts?

pinkypurkhardt 18 September 2010 11:47 PM

bioforger 19 September 2010 12:19 AM

no brainer, swap

philhasasti 19 September 2010 12:25 AM

DO IT!!! before he changes his mind..

rob84 19 September 2010 12:57 AM

keep the hatch lol

the rb will need new struts soon and that will cost the earth to keep it original.

The issue of the hatches loosing a cylinder is related to the engine on the 2.5.

Our local dealer has swapped quite a few hawkeye lumps alongside Hatches.

Although the RB320 should have a better map on the ECU. Custom map would help either tbh.

I would keep the hatch mate, RB320,s are not that special, i wouldnt rush out to buy one anyway.

Many that slag the hatch dont like the looks, not too many have driven them, hatch is a better car!

SWAP, SWAP, SWAP !!!:thumb:

Much better looking car and a Limited Edition model to boot:D

P4UL 19 September 2010 01:24 AM

Al see what he comes back with tomorrow offer wise, before I make the decision.

Nothing against the hatch just thought the RB would be a little bit special.
If I keep the hatch I have plans for it anyhoo, with the possibility of buying a classic for a project.

We will see what happens!!

Cheers

Why go backwards. Onwards and upwards. Keep it!

jameswrx 19 September 2010 08:47 AM

It depends on what you're doing with it, if you intend to keep either your hatch or the rb for many years and want as much money back as possible then get the rb. Or, if you see yourself driving an m3/evo/insert here in a years time just keep he hatch and save the bother.

The RB320 is the only one to have the rear strut re-worked by Bilstein & I don't think any of these have failed yet!
(fingers crossed)

Brun 19 September 2010 05:41 PM

I've driven neither but given the choice, i would be having the RB every day of the week :D

TonyBurns 19 September 2010 05:42 PM

Keep the hatch, they are a better car than the previous models, as long as you have had the engine remap updated you should be ok with it :D

Tony:)

bioforger 19 September 2010 05:54 PM

thats no guarantee either, as long as u pull the engine n replace all parts with forged items, u should be ok :lol1:

Tomwrx 19 September 2010 07:14 PM

very true, had the hatch since April and have had no problems with i yet and I have racked up 7k since then. Engine issue plays on the mind especially as the warranty is out soon.
