Hi people.....

I now its non scooby there are a few ppl on ere with some sence:lol1:
I have a mk 5/6 escort GTi an have loads of problems with it... Firstly headgasket went,so that was replaced an timeing belt aswell,in the end the bottom end compression was non egsistant:brickwall:brickwall,so i replaced the engine with a 2.0l zetec black top.
So new engine in,then the bloke has probs with the loom an ecu....:brickwall:brickwall.... Anyway the car finally runs:luxhello::luxhello:
but i get a fone call last ngt before i go to pick it up that it wont rev.....
So on way in car it is coughing an spluttering.... but then picks up and go's like a rocket.... But on way home i notice it is starting to over heat:confused::confused: Could any of you folks give some input on what the problem could be:notworthy:notworthy as it is doing my tits in an need the car for work

Hi mick, not to sure what the lack of power and surge could be,did you run with the 1.8 manifolds and sensors!!! could be a wafty TPS!!!

But the over heating could be down to the water pump, the mondeo one runs in the opposite direction to the escort and fiesta zetec's as the alternator is on the back of the block on a mondeo and at the front on the escort (i only found this out when i was looking to put 2.0 in to my little fiesta si)

Cheers fella,overheating is down to the thermostat..... as it is wrong one,with will be cured tomoro,but once it's been running for about 10mins an u rev it,it clear's then you can rev the tits off it.... Cant get hold of a mk1 mondeo ecu...
