thrust bearing help plss
 
hi im going to fit my new thrush bearing at the weekend, does any1 now a good site to talk me thru how to do this with pics if poss, or if any1 on here can talk me thru it, thanks

If its the crankshaft thrust bearings you are doing,then its a full engine strip to do it.
If its the clutch release bearing,then its the gearbox out to change it.

Intercooler off, prop off, down pipe off, undo bell housing bolts and take the starter off, on the side of the box by the slave cylinder is a cover with a hex head, undo this and underneath is the tube the fork pivots on. Wind a 10mm bolt in and pull it out. Off the top of my head think that's pretty much it for removal of gearbox. Oh, undo bottom ball joints as well and tap out the retaining pin in the drive shafts by using a small punch, reinstall pretty much the same way, obviously in reverse, you'll need some sort of aligning tool for the clutch, my one came with the clutch kit, not sure where else you'd get one from

Probably worth draining the gearbox of oil while your at it as well if it's not been done for a while, save the chance of it going everywhere when the box comes out
