BMW M1: for sale or not for sale?

This rude French guy's For Sale advert made me laugh. Would you want to give this guy your money?

One of my all time favorite cars beautiful and fucntional. I remember being overtaken in one back in 1981 - it was being driven by Richard Burton - reg was 1 RB or RB 1 from memory.

No Time wasters.
Do not contact me if you're not serious.

Why would this make you laugh?

The guy will be inundated with wanna-be owners that just want to pretent they could own this car.

He doesn't even give any information about the car, just 4 random period images, the year and power output. In fact the Pro-Cars were only circuit racers for F1 support races (with F1 drivers). The few rally M1's were privately campaigned in France only and very unsuccessful, despite their gorgeous appearance.

Where / when did it compete? Who prepared it? Who drove it and how successful was it? What condition is it in now? Has it been restored? Are there any up-to-date photos?

I have seen plently of adverts for far more valuable cars than this one, but never seen one that spends more time telling the reader to get lost, rather than describing what he is actually selling.

I really can't see this guy being inundated with time-wasters. I have advertised a couple of reasonably valuable cars on that website with very few time-wasters: it's an enthusiasts' site after all. The initial contact is by e-mail, so you can always ignore any enquiries that seem less than genuine.

Anyway as those dastardly Dragons would say: "for all of the above reasons, I'm not going to be investing on this occasion and so I'm out." :)

Agree with Turbo - ad makes it about as appealing as a clap ridden sink estate hooker.

A shame because M1s are dead cool.
