Wait right there my son,,,,

powerwrx 12 September 2010 06:22 PM

long wait... lol

fiveskin 12 September 2010 06:33 PM

hehe yeah its actually a real hard one to do.

the pic has to have certain things to begin with, plus theres a seperate plug-in program that actually does it....which costs about 500 quid!
i can nearly replicate it though, done a few of my own motor like it.

heres the best i can get you with the first one.....

bioforger 12 September 2010 07:04 PM

powerwrx 12 September 2010 07:30 PM

fiveskin 12 September 2010 07:34 PM

had bother with this one. the contrast of the original was giving me jip. same kind of photo but with the flash on would help...

never hear of what boilforger said he uses, im interested though especially if its free! is it a photoshop plug in?

fiveskin 12 September 2010 07:51 PM

i'll check out that photomatix thing though. sounds superb. especially if its just a case of moving sliders rather than a nightmare of channels and layers.

bioforger 12 September 2010 07:59 PM

lol thats good but the body doesnt quite fit his head, looks like an old midget lol

fiveskin 12 September 2010 08:03 PM

yeah i had one of it smaller... for some reason it looked even weirder cos of the hands. the original old mans hands are mutant massive. look at size of them to his body !!

ironbridge 13 September 2010 03:29 PM

quick one i made for you.

need a bigger image or you get a lot of noise during the tonemapping.

ironbridge 13 September 2010 03:39 PM

this one is not so good.

really needs more detail in the background and more dramatic clouds to make it better.

image is really noisy again due to the small size of the image.

ironbridge 13 September 2010 03:52 PM

this is a picture i took of my girlfriends car,

as you can see the image looks much better because the clouds are so dramatic and theres plenty of detail in the background

fiveskin 13 September 2010 05:31 PM

to be honest, i quite like images in that style with a bit of noise. gives it a gritty look. with a real hard sharpness to them too

tomdscooby 13 September 2010 06:46 PM

i think by "noise" they mean halos that appear around objects when there is alot of contrast change. this can be reduced in photoshop but at the expense of other stuff. you need good photos to start with and for HDR you are best starting with at least 3 of the exact same picture but with different exposures, as this is the "dynamic range" the D and R stand for. (H is high lol)

tone mapping gives the surreal look and i wanna try photomatrix as ive only done it with cs3 and a bad camera lol

fiveskin 13 September 2010 07:38 PM

just loaded up the trial of photomatix. its good. it gets me to the base level in a few seconds. i just used to photoshop fiddle for ages to get that initial effect.

see the pro's useage examples of it? check this baby out.... looks like a computer game

ironbridge 14 September 2010 03:25 PM

a halo is totally different to noise. noise occurs in areas of darkness or shade when creating single jpeg pseudo-hdr images.

halos occur when really dark areas meet really bright areas, for example a building and the sky behind it.

some people consider halos to be aesthetic, some unaesthetic. all about preference.

Heres my attempt mate changed some of the angles (hope you dont mind)

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r..._1036_fhdr.jpg

and on this one got rid of the telegrpah pole, it is rule of thirds but i think i was upsetting the balance and now i hope the shot focuses more on the car

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r..._1044_fhdr.jpg

as previously mentioned though due to the small size you will get a lot of noise, you could use noise ninja but i am too tight to pay for it so i dont have it a the moment. Do you have the original? is it in RAW?

baz995 14 September 2010 08:09 PM

Here you go mate as requested :-)
