As you know I am looking to buy a digital camera. Ive decided on the Canon Ixus V but am off to the states in 2 weeks and canons replacement models the Ixus V2 and Ixus 330 are released this month. Prices advertised are looking good even in Walmart (like £230 compared to £350 here). What Im wondering is will I have any issues buying a camera in the US and using it in the UK other than the obvious power difference on the battery charger?

Hello

I bought my (old) digital camera in the States and had no problem at all.

The only peculiarity that didn't bother me, is that if you output the pictures to the TV directly from the camera then your TV must accept NTSC input (most do).

Just checked my Ixus V, you can easily select PAL or NTSC from a menu.

Poer supply may well be 110V may qwell aut-sense 240 but check before you plug it in.

Power supplies avaliable from Jessops, Tandys, etc.

Power and the NTSC thing should be the only problems. Would check prices on net as might be cheaper in UK via internet, but might not be.

Was going to get my camera out here, but decided to get it in good ol blighty, via internet.

Well £319 all in is the cheapest Ive found the Ixus and In the US the Ixus V2 (new model) is around £235 so if I see one I will get it - may be able to haggle a deal as a mate wants one too.

What about warranty? I assume I can send it to Canon UK?
